How it will work
A fixed basket of published retail prices, re-checked weekly from the same sources at the same cadence. The index publishes only after four clean weekly snapshots are banked — an index with one datapoint is a blog post.
What it will not measure
Wholesale and packer prices, restaurant plate pricing, and regional grocery promotions are out of scope, and the methodology page will say so in the same breath as the numbers.
